What's Out There? Sacramento Camp & Conference Center
Take a look at the secluded haven in Sacramento, New Mexico, with the Reader

Tenny Corbett chuckles as he zips around on tour of a sprawling mountain campus in his four-seater golf cart, pointing out amenities, bragging on employees, and sharing lore along the way.
The Corbetts moved to Sacramento, New Mexico, after recently becoming “empty nesters,” with their children living in the “four corners of the country.”
Tenny now serves as Executive Director, and his wife, Tami, manages Guest Services at the Sacramento Camp & Conference Center in Sacramento near the remote hamlet of Weed, New Mexico.
As we zoom between the lushly manicured facilities and bump off-road to visit the RV lots, staff housing, trails, and horse stables, Tenny shares what they have to offer.
What’s Out There?
The Sacramento Camp is a year-round facility available to groups and individuals—churches, businesses, organizations, and families.
One of the camp’s modern conference centers and lodging is near completion, next door to a wooden chapel with handiwork speaking to another era. The camp was originally established in 1931 with ties to the Methodist church, and now operates as a non-denominational Christian camp, open for corporate and other use.
They’ve got lodging of all kinds, camping, dining, trails, and scads of recreation options to choose from on the 300-acre campus.
Play
Horse around under Equine Coordinator Gabrielle Nelson’s guidance, of course. Pony rides are $6, one-and-a-half-hour trail rides are $30, and half-day rides are $60.
Riding lessons are available for locals, and the campus includes nearly 100 acres of horse trails.
Looking for team-building exercises?
Challenge yourself on the high and low ropes courses, the “Fling Thing”—it looks like a human slingshot with a rock-climbing harness attached to a trampoline, a rock wall, a giant swing, and a zip line. Prices start at $8.
The camp offers guided ATV tours, a rifle range, skeet shooting, and archery rentals, ranging from $12 to $48.
They’ve got paintball slingshots, arrow tag, RC cars, mountain scooters, blacklight dodgeball, disc golf, gaga ball, volleyball, basketball, fishing, boats, pedal carts, and more.
