Wastewater Treatment Plant Number One: Council Sets Five-Year Infrastructure Funding List
The Cloudcroft Village Council voted unanimously on Thursday, June 25, to adopt a six-project Infrastructure Capital Improvement Plan (ICIP) for fiscal years 2028 through 2032, ranking water and sewer system replacement as the village’s top funding priority.
US-54 Rehab Project Begins Monday
A $7.89 million pavement rehabilitation project on US Highway 54 between Tularosa and Carrizozo starts Monday, July 6, and is expected to run through early November.
The 10.7-mile project (milepost 96 to 107) includes a mill-and-inlay resurfacing, new rumble strips and guardrail. Mesa Verde Enterprises is the contractor.
Work runs weekdays, 7 a.m.-6 p.m., with lane closures in both directions for the duration. NMDOT advises drivers to expect delays and watch for crews.

Cloudcroft Celebrates Court Resurfacing with Cool Mountain Classic Pickleball Tournament
The PAC, Pickleball Addicts of Cloudcroft, presents The Cool Mountain Classic Tournament, July 17-19.

Men’s advanced groups will play after a ribbon cutting at 4 p.m. on Friday, July 17, at the Zenith Park public courts.
On Saturday, the men’s and women’s doubles intermediate 50+ age categories kick things off at 8 a.m. The men’s/women’s doubles intermediate 18-49 age group takes the afternoon, and on Sunday at 8 a.m., the 50+ mixed doubles play, and the 18-49 group plays in the afternoon.
