Lodgers Tax Funding Applications Due June 30thโFive Days Away
The council approved the updated Lodgers Tax Advisory Board application process, which was drafted by Advisory Board member Bri Jonnes. The deadline for submissions is June 30th.
The app is not up on the village website GIS dashboard, but the Reader has a draft.

โWrong, you don't treat a cannabis shop like a gift shop, restaurant, or coffee shop, you treat it the same as a BAR!! There are specific restrictions and regulations per the state, and there should be for the village. For instance, cannabis shops should be a certain distance from schools or daycare facilities.โ

Cloudcroft Ultra Races: Registration Open
The Cloudcroft Ultra 53k, 9.5 mile, 4.75 mile and a 1 mile Kid's Dash trail races are back!
The 53k, 9.5 & 4.75 mile races are on the Rim Trail (T105). Cloudcroft Ultra Organizer Cloudcroft Runners note that โthe Rim Trail was the first U.S. Forest Service Trail in New Mexico to be designated as a National Recreation Trail. It is a combination of old Indian paths, railroad grades, homestead trails and logging routes linked together by newer section built in the 1960โs and beyond.โ
The Kid's Dash will be a 1 mile loop around Zenith park. All races will start and finish at the Pavilion in Zenith Park.
Deploying New Fire Hydrants
In a timely move, Public Works Supervisor J.J. Carrizalโs maintenance crews are installing new red-white-and-blue hydrants throughout the Village โ one went in on Grand Ave last week, and a stack of hydrants is staged at the maintenance yard. Almost 100 new hydrants will be in service once the deployment concludes.
