Primary Election Results: Otero County
The results are in.
Jonathan Emery defeated Amy Barela by a narrow margin for Otero County Commissioner District 2.
Geraldine Yazza Martinez beat out Raul Robles and Cesar Ramos with 54% of the vote for Otero County Sheriff.

Leadership Cloudcroft 2026 Welcomes New Group
Leadership Cloudcroft, the educational and networking program developed by the Cloudcroft Reader, welcomes Gail Overstreet Stone, Michelle Chase, Bre Kincaid, Dylan Kincaid, Steven Henry, Julia Dingee, Jon Brinkmann, Adrienne West, Cori Abel, and Tracy Machado to this year’s cohort.
Kicking off with a private event at The Distillery in June, where they’ll hear from Mayor Wiley after six months into his term and a Southwest Sports representative on their plans for the ice rink.
In July, the crew will visit Cloudcroft’s wells and springs with Public Works, and in August, they’ll brainstorm at the “Responsible Tourism” forum with 2026 co-chairs and LC alumni Amy Coor and Rick Donnelly.
