Last week, candidates for Cloudcroft Village Trustee gathered at The Lodge Pavilion for a public conversation sponsored by the Reader and the Chamber of Commerce.
The forum allowed residents to hear directly from the people who hold a seat—and a vote—on the village council.
Discussion covered topics central to village life: infrastructure maintenance, fiscal priorities, local business vitality, stakeholder input, transparency in governance, accessibility, and more.
The top two vote-getters for trustee positions will hold four-year terms, and the third-place finisher will have a two-year term.

Who’s on the local ballot?
Folks can vote early at the CHS gym in Cloudcroft on Saturday, October 25th, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Election Day is Tuesday, November 4th, in Cloudcroft at the High School gym. Find more voting locations here.
The GO Bond will be on the ballot, benefiting Cloudcroft Schools and not raising tax rates.

Timothy Edward King and Gerald Dustin Wiley compete for Mayor;
Gail K McCoy, Keith Byron Hamilton, and Erwin D Hardwick will fill three of the four open seats for Trustee;
Mark Toliver Tatum seeks reelection as Municipal Judge; and,
Lance Howard Wright, Rebecca Michele Anthony, and Bruce W Odom compete for two open School Board seats.
